| February 17, 2009 | | Great Free Antivirus Solution for Home Users | Today's post if the fifth in the series that I started in January pertaining to what I thought were the best free technology products available. Today's pick is one for the home and not the office. Originally, I was very skeptical of this product, but having pointed dozens of home users to this and watched how it performed I have become a believer in the the AVG Anti-Virus product.
AVG has a variety of pay for products that work great for home and office users, servers, etc. For those people on a budget, but still needing a solid Anti-Virus solution, the free home edition is a no-frills, get the job done anti-virus package that easily and quickly installs, performs automatic updates and keeps your PC clean.
Pair the free AVG anti-virus with the integrated Windows Firewall and you have reasonably good protection. Certainly a Trend, McAfee, or Symantec suite might provide better protection, but again if you are not able to spend the money this is a great solution.
